Information regarding requests to be submitted to the Educational Committee

 

1. Deadlines and Forms

Requests regarding the upcoming semester must be submitted electronically to the Educational Committee of the Faculty of Humanities within the period specified in the Academic Calendar.

Since the requests are discussed at the committee meeting, there is no possibility to modify deadlines or to submit requests afterwards.

From the 2023/24/2 semester, some requests must be submitted through Neptun. These are the followings:

  • Request for 4th or further course registration
  • Request for the weakening of strong prerequisite
  • Request for extending the suspension of student status (3rd or further consecutive passive semesters)

Requests other than those listed above must be submitted via email using the forms available at the Faculty  website: https://btk.elte.hu/documents_forms

When you submit a request using these forms, please, pay attention to the following:

  • In the signature field of the forms, the full name must be typed along with the abbreviation "sgd." (signed) – it is not necessary to create a digital signature or to insert the signature in any other way.

The Educational Committee of the Faculty of Humanities makes decisions only on subjects managed by the faculty. For requests concerning subjects managed by another faculty, the request must be submitted according to the procedure and by the deadline specified by the responsible faculty.

2. Preliminary departmental review (support) of requests

Students are required to have their requests preliminarily reviewed (supported/signed) by the head of the organizational unit (institute director/head of department) responsible for their study programme and/or the program director in the following cases:

  • Requests for changing the training program, major, or study mode
  • Transfer requests
  • Request for 4th or further course registration
  • Request for weakening of strong prerequisite
  • Requests to retake the Final Exam for the third time

For the preliminary review (support/signature) of the request, the completely filled out form and any attachments must be sent to the university email address (ending in ...@elte.hu ) of the responsible person (institute director/head of department and/or programme director)  who will send their opinion (supported/not supported) and the signed request in a response email.

Requests, that lack the mandatory departmental review (support/signature), will be automatically rejected by the Educational Committee without substantive examination.

3. Submitting Requests

After receiving the responsible person’s (institute director/head of department and/or programme director) feedback, students must attach the request, any possible attachments, and the opinion received from the responsible person to the request submitted in Neptun. For requests submitted via email, these documents must be forwarded as attachments to your study coordinator.

Please note that the same deadline applies for submitting the requests and for providing correctios: 3rd February 2025. If something is missing from your request, you can provide the missing document/approval…etc. until this deadline. After the deadline, you cannot submit any additional document.

4. Viewing the Decision on the Request

The decisions made by the Educational Committee will be available in Neptun.

In the case of the requests submitted via email, the decision will be available under Studies – Official Notes. In the case of the requests submitted via Neptun, the decision will be available under Administration/Requests/Submitted requests: click on the + sign next to the relevant request form and select “View resolution”.
