Main research areas
My research focuses on 17-18. century music aesthetics. This is embodied on the one hand in the study of the interaction of music and philosophy, and on the other hand in the study of the musical practice of the era. My activity also extends to the history of musical performing arts. At the same time, research into the philosophy of the era is also part of my activities, because art, in this case music, includes philosophical explication: in what and to what extent the philosophical doctrines of rationalism and empiricism can be achieved in music. The most significant part of my publications comes from these topics. In terms of contemporary theory of art, the subject of my research is the historical-authentic early music playing, a trend in the performing arts that I have been following for three decades now, and I regularly review in my critiques.
