Thesis title announcement
The title of the Thesis has to be submitted one semester before the planned graduation.
e.g. If you plan to graduate the 2020/2021/2 spring, the Thesis title has to be registered in the 2020/2021/1 autumn semester.

The Thesis title must be announced in Neptun (only electronically). You can find a guide for it HERE.
Thesis submission for students graduating in 2025/26/2 spring
Thesis submission
The submission of the Thesis happens only electronically, via Neptun system. Theses sent via email will not be accepted.
We call your attention to the fact that the thesis can be uploaded only with the supervisor’s consent. Please, request the approval (“Thesis admission request”) in Neptun between 30th March and 10th April 2026. For information on how to send the “Thesis admission request”, please study the guide “Information for students on uploading the thesis”.
If your supervisor accepts your thesis admission request, Neptun will send you a system message about the acceptance. Following this message, the thesis upload button becomes active.
Deadline for uploading the thesis:
- for BA and MA students: 15th April 2026, 23:59
- for students of the INSTRUCTION OF ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE MA programme: 30th April 2026, 23:59

Please note that there is no opportunity for late thesis submission! In case you face technical issues during the upload, please, make a screenshot and report the problem immediately at kertesz.emese@btk.elte.hu.
The thesis can be uploaded in Neptun under Menu>>Studies>>Degree thesis. The “Information for students on uploading the thesis” guide provides assistance with the upload process.
Thesis upload technical issues
Important technical information for uploading the thesis:
- You can upload only 1 document/file to Neptun (zip or pdf).
- The maximal file size you can upload is 200 MB.
- A mandatory component of the thesis is the Declaration on the use of artificial intelligence tools.
- Please, name the file the following way: (Name_Neptuncode_szd_2025_26_2). Example: Smith_Peter_XCVRQ2_szd_2025_26_2
- Keywords: Please provide terms related to the topic of your thesis. We recommend entering 2–3 keywords.
- A maximum of 500 characters can be entered in the “Abstract” field. If the provided text exceeds this length, the system will display the following error message:
“Az entitás érvénytelen attribútummal rendelkezik. A(z) Extra2 értéke túl hosszú (Jelenlegi: …, Megengedett: 500).” If you receive this error message, please shorten the text entered in the “Abstract” field. (It is no problem if the text in the “Abstract” field is different from the actual abstract in your thesis document.) - We highly recommend that you start the thesis upload at least 20 minutes before the deadline, as entering the title, abstract, keywords, and uploading the thesis file are time-consuming processes. The thesis is considered uploaded if Neptun confirms the successful upload before the deadline (for BA/MA students: 23:59:59 on 15th April 2026; for ELIMA students: 23:59:59 on 30th April 2026).
Thesis evaluation
The thesis evaluation will be available in Neptun after the opponent (evaluating teacher) uploads it. For viewing the evaluation, follow the guide “Information for students on uploading the thesis”, in which we included the information on viewing the thesis evaluation.
