Orientation Week
The Orientation Week is organized for new international students at ELTE Faculty of Humanities at the beginning of each academic semester.

Online Pre-Orientation
The online pre-orientation is intended to help our new students prepare for the semester, course registration, and arrival at Hungary. You can 'meet' your coordinators, and there is also a Question&Answer session after the presentation.

Information about the enrolment process (Only for full-time BA/MA students)
All freshmen must go through the registration and enrolment process, this will be the first administrative step of your student life at ELTE. The registration and enrolment happens in person by showing all necessary documents.
Registration and enrolment in person consists of 3 steps
Electronic enrolment in the Neptun system (done by the student before arrival) - Guide on how to activate your semester
Registration (in person) at your international coordinator at the Department of International Affairs (only with a booked appointment, see the next section) - Venue: Room 45 (map)
Enrolment (in person) at the Office of Educational Affairs (only with an appointment booked at least half an hour after your appointment at the Department of International Affairs) - Venue: Room 24 (map)
Please try to arrive before 31 August. The registration and enrolment dates will soon be announced. If you arrive later, please contact your coordinator, and also book an appointment.
Appointment booking
Enrolment documents:
passport
residence permit (if you already have one)
accommodation reporting form (or some kind of document that shows your current address in Hungary: zip code, city, name of the street, floor, apartment number)
- language certificate (if the programme requires)
- 1 passport photo of yourself (3.5 x 4.5 cm approximately. Write your full name at the back with capital letters!)
- enrolment sheet printed and signed from Neptun study system (You can download it from Neptun/Information/General Forms. For more information, revise the second orientation letter/scroll down.)
- your mobile phone number in Hungary (optional, but get one as soon as possible)
- certificate of successful registration at the Department of International Affairs
- certificate of previous studies
- if you are a BA student: high school diploma (certificate of matriculation/graduation certificate from high school studies): original + photocopy + translation if it is not in English. If you have not received the final certificate yet, you have to bring a temporary certificate which states that you completed your studies, and the document will be issued later.
- if you are an MA student: BA degree certificate (diploma) and degree supplement (Transcript of Records): original + photocopy + translation if it is not in English. If you have not received the final diploma yet, you have to bring a temporary certificate which states that you completed your studies, and the document will be issued later.

Where can you print and copy?
At the University campus: Building R, ground floor (Mon - Thu: 7:30–8:30 am; 9:30 am - 4:30 pm; Fri: 7:30-8.30 am; 9:30 am - 3:30 pm)

How to print the Enrolment sheet from Neptun?
Log in to Neptun.
- Entering the Neptun System, in the upper corner on the left side, please, click on “Training” and choose your programme from the list.
Click on “Administration”, then on “General forms”.
Next to the document called Enrolment sheet (Beiratkozási lap in Hungarian), click on the sign “+” and choose the option “Print”.
Sign the document.
Pack this document together with all other documents necessary for the registration (enrolment).
How to pick up my residence permit?
After the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing ('Immigration Office') sends out the positive decision, it takes 2-3 weeks for the permit to be manufactured. All residence permits for the purpose of study are sent to the address of the university by post. Shortly after the arrival of your card, you will receive a notification through Neptun. Please wait for this notification which includes the time and place to receive your card.
