Dildora Bakhriddinova, lecturer at Jizzakh State University in Uzbekistan, will give a talk at our Faculty on the use of euphemisms in everyday communication.
She conducted her doctoral research on euphemistic language use, mapping the discursive functions and cultural characteristics of euphemisms in a comparative Uzbek–English perspective. She is currently working on the methodology for identifying euphemistic expressions in corpora as a visiting researcher at ELTE. In her lecture, she will present the key findings of her research to the interested audience.
