On the eve of László Krasznahorkai’s honorary doctorate ceremony at ELTE, Faculty of Humanities welcomes members of the ELTE community and the wider public to a special evening of literary and artistic events in the renewed Trefort Garden campus.
While most programmes will be held in Hungarian, international guests are warmly welcome to join the following highlights:
► 18:00–18:30 Sound Shower: Satantango in Many Languages
A unique reading performance celebrating both László Krasznahorkai and the translators who have brought his work to readers around the world. Faculty members, students, friends and invited guests will read passages from the opening pages of Satantango in a variety of languages taught at the Faculty of Humanities.

► 20:00–22:00 Immersive Journeys into the World of Krasznahorkai
An experimental audiovisual performance created by Subaquatica (MOME) in collaboration with ELTE Faculty of Humanities students. Through the fusion of sound, visuals and text, artists and humanities students explore the distinctive atmosphere of Krasznahorkai’s oeuvre. The performance unfolds in three thematic chapters centred on wandering, fear and hope.

► 22:00 Campus Opening & Semester Kick-off Party
The evening concludes with an open-air celebration marking the opening of the renewed campus and the start of the academic year.
