My main research interest is the Theatre of the Absurd and its lasting legacy in European drama. I am particularly interested in theatre under oppressive regimes, theatre after historical rupture, as well as comparative drama studies (Eastern and Western Europe), in-yer-face theatre, and the oeuvre and legacy of Martin Esslin. I am also interested in theatre's potential role as Habermas's public sphere.
