The aim of the national series of events is to enable visitors to get to know the work of researchers and the scientific world. Our faculty is preparing a number of events this year, of which we recommend the following to our international students:
12:00-12:30 Lunchtime Concert: Zsombor Marcell Horváth, Piano
As part of the "Practice at the Highest Level" concert series, launched by MA students of the ELTE Institute of Arts Communication and Music, pianist Zsombor Marcell Horváth presents a special lunchtime recital. The series offers performance opportunities for students of music universities and academies.

16:00-17:00 Concert of the ELTE Faculty of Humanities Russian Choir
The student-teacher choir of ELTE’s Department of Russian Studies, a regular contributor to events organized by the Institute of Slavic and Baltic Philology, takes the stage at Researchers’ Night. More than a language-learning initiative, the choir is a vibrant community where students can develop their musical and dance talents while sharing their passion for Russian culture and performance.

What exactly is a zine, and why has it become such an important form of creative self-expression? Explore the history, cultural significance, and different techniques of zine-making, then create your own mini-publication in this hands-on workshop.

18:00-19:00 Political Cartoons as Visual Commentaries: The Illustrated History of America
Political cartoons can be interpreted as visual commentaries that can help us understand the events and issues, the debates, that have shaped the history of the United States. Political cartoonists have covered a wide range of topics via their thought-provoking illustrations during various moments in American history. Some of these cartoons might be candid, educational, satirical, funny, and even puzzling, but generally all of them are sharply observant of the changes in American society and politics. During the interactive class we will take a look at political cartoons as a medium, as a visual commentary, but also as the illustrated history of America, reflecting on the work of some prominent political cartoonists from various eras. In order to foster and encourage critical thinking, the illustrations will be analyzed in their historical context in order to discuss their intended meaning and message, and how they reflect the given time period. We will analyze and discuss selected cartoons together and will also formulate captions for some of the works.

18:30-19:30 Letters from the Roof of the World: An Introduction to Tibetan Calligraphy
Discover the beauty and symbolism of Tibetan script in this interactive workshop. Learn about the history and artistic traditions of Tibetan writing, then try your hand at creating sacred syllables or a short mantra using traditional calligraphy tools. No prior knowledge required. The session will be held partly in Hungarian and partly in English, with Hungarian interpretation.

Students of the ELTE Faculty of Humanities' Songwriting postgraduate programme take the stage alongside musician and writer László Kollár-Klemencz, the creator of the programme. Join us for an evening of original songs, creative expression, and inspiring performances.
