The conference, jointly organized by the ELTE Department of Medieval History and the EurAsia Cluster of Excellence based in Vienna, focuses on the historical, archaeological, and linguistic interactions between Europe and Inner Asia. 

The participants are internationally recognized and distinguished experts in the field. One of the focus points of the conference is to re-examine the international context of the thirteenth-century Mongol campaigns in Hungary and Central Europe. On the final day of the conference, participants will visit significant archaeological sites related to this theme.
