Extension of residence permit, plane tickets, validation of diploma

If you would like to use your Hungarian diploma in your home country or any other country, you have to go through an administrational process in order to validate your degree. You will get the details after your Final Examination.

It is important to plan ahead the extension of your residence permit. The validation process may take 2-3 weeks, so calculate your travel date and extension date like this. Regarding the extension process, please read this guide.

Please note that the Final Examinations are held in-person.

If you have already achieved ’absolved’ status in a previous semester, you may not be in Hungary. Please read the section ’For students with shorter stays’ on the Visa procedure page very carefully. Should you need to apply for a C-visa in order to return to Hungary for your Final Examination, Graduation Ceremony, and - if necessary - the Apostille validation procedure, please contact your international coordinator to request a student status certificate with the required note. Please find the visa application form (for a stay shorter than 90 days) here.
