History of Science and Knowledge

My research focuses on the interconnections of the history of science, knowledge and culture, especially the interaction of scientific spectacles, visual culture, new technological media, and the circulation of knowledge. 

Theatre and Performance Art History

My research in the field of theatre and performance studies deals with various topics such as intermedial performances, the relation of archives and performativity, the cultural relevance of reenactments and documenatary theatre, and the Eastern European histories of theatre and performance art during the Cold War. 

Nineteenth-Century Popular Culture

My research focuses on the history of European popular performances, and the interconnections of popular culture and visual culture in the long 19th century.
