Q1 rating for the journal of the Institute of Archaeology

Founded in 1958, the journal's modernization and online launch in 2013 marked the beginning of its evolution, which is the work of Dávid Bartus, Editor-in-Chief, Gábor Váczi, Editor, and Edit Markó-Markechné Zelei, Head of the Specialised Library. The annual grants from the Faculty of Humanities, the applications of the ELTE Journal Development Fund and the expert advice of the University Library and Archives have provided and continue to provide the financial and technical backing for the journal.
The annual journal's priority is to provide a professional publishing platform for young researchers at the Institute of Archaeology. In the editing of the journal, it is important to ensure that both short and longer than average scientific manuscripts are published, as it is important to publish both a single archaeological object and the finds of an entire site.
Dissertationes Archaeologicae is ranked 61st out of 454 indexed archaeological journals in the world and 11th in Eastern Europe in terms of subject area.
