The role of library collections in education

On October 3, 2025, staff members of the Korean Department at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) participated in a roundtable discussion. Dr. Beatrix Mecsi, Ramóna Fajkuszné Kovács, and Janka Kovács, as well as Kornélia Major, librarian at the ELTE Institute of East Asian Studies Library, participated in a roundtable discussion entitled The Role of Library Collections in Education – Present and Future at the 30th Budapest International Book Festival.

The discussion, organized by the Korean Cultural Center in Budapest, presented ELTE's Korean book collection and the special collection created with the help of the Korean National Library's "Window on Korea" program. The teachers talked about how they use the collection in their teaching, what tasks they use to encourage students to use the books, and how they incorporate online digital resources into their teaching practice.
