Joint conference of the ELTE Institute of Archaeology and the HUN-REN RCAES Institute for Geological and Geochemical Research.

The conference aims to provide an opportunity for young researchers working in the field of archaeometry to present their scientific results. During the multi-day event, participants will have the chance to listen to numerous Hungarian and international speakers, including several students and young researchers from our institute. The presentations will cover a wide range of archaeometric research topics, including the analysis of pottery vessels, pigments, glass, metals and various building materials, as well as bioarchaeological and geophysical studies.

The conference will be opened by Dávid Bartus, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at Eötvös Loránd University, and the keynote lecture will be delivered by István Koncz, a member of the ERC HistoGenes research group, on October 15, entitled Communities, connectivity and catastrophes in 6th century Pannonia: Challenges and possibilities of combining genetic, archaeological and historical perspectives.

The Budapest Neutron Centre and the ELTE RCH Institute of Archaeogenomics have made it possible for participants to visit these institutions as part of guided tours, while the Hungarian National Museum has provided an opportunity to view selected objects from its exhibitions.
